GROWTH [Online Edition] 1 session of 3 hours November 13th, 2021 3 - 6 PM GMT GROWTH is the irreversible increase of an organism's size over a given period. It may also be defined as one of the characteristics of a living thing. Biological growth is associated with progressive development. An organism's growth may go on throughout its life or end when that species is fully mature. The course will investigate generative growing structures in Houdini. Participants will learn the process of the growth operation basics in the real world and implement it inside Houdini. Participants will also be exposed to VEX and system functions, in order to create live growing systems and solid structures. We will give varying solid mesh geometry representations to the growth concept, as well as materials. Finally, we will show how to set up a basic rendering in Houdini's Mantra render engine and Keyshot. The session will be interactive and practical, with lots of opportunities to ask questions and discuss with your tutor and classmates. Class size will be limited to allow for each participant to receive individual feedback and assistance during the class.
