Service Description

BODY DYNAMICS [Online Edition] 1 session of 3 hours December 18th, 2021 3 - 6 PM GMT BODY DYNAMICS will cover two chapters inside Houdini: RIGID and SOFT BODIES. I. Rigid body dynamics is highly inspired by Kintsugi, known as golden repair, which is the Japanese art of repairing cracks by mending the areas of breakage with golden lacquer, honoring the artifact’s unique history by emphasizing, not hiding, the break. This chapter will reflect over tearing apart solids and assigning different formulas to simulate the natural laws of physics for breaking and bondage. II. Soft body dynamics is influenced by the natural flow of fluids and soft tissues, such as particle fluids and oceans. This second part of the workshop will focus on the basics of simulating fluid operations in different contexts. The course will explore the basics of building the physics setup for a better understanding of the underlying principles of how the Gravity system and DOP Networks. Participants will also learn the process of the SOP Solver and Custom Fracturing inside Houdini. We will give varying solid mesh geometry representations to the fracturing and bondage systems, as well as materials. Finally, we will show how to set up a basic rendering in Houdini's Mantra render engine and Keyshot. The session will be interactive and practical, with lots of opportunities to ask questions and discuss with your tutor and classmates. Class size will be limited to allow for each participant to receive individual feedback and assistance during the class. This course is open for beginners and intermediate levels.
